Now we can teach students the best way to shift a heavy-duty, non-synchronized truck transmission without ever leaving the classroom. The new TranSim by I•Sim/Eaton is an invaluable training tool that allows the driver to learn the proper way to shift a variety of transmissions, over a wide variety of grades, pulling a variety of loads, all from the safety and convenience of our classroom. Then you will be asked to put what you have learned to the test as we train you on the open road.

Eligibility & Enrollment
No previous experience necessary. Training starts with the basics. Eligibility is easy. Besides a serious attitude about learning how to safely operate a tractor-trailer, small truck or bus, all you need is:

Just visit the school, provide proof of eligibility, and complete the enrollment forms. After you have enrolled, the admissions office will aid you in obtaining a copy of your abstract & DOT physical exam. |

Winsors Tractor Trailer Driving School pledges to you, the student, that before we schedule you for your CDL road test at DMV, you will be proficient in upshifting and downshifting and all operations of tractor trailer driving, according to your instructors evaluation. Additional instruction is available before the road test, at no charge, as long as the student is making progress, has attended all classes as scheduled, and has a valid CDL permit. Our passing rate speaks for itself.

Equipment
We offer our students a fully equipped computerized classroom, over an acre training yard for off-road instruction and industry standard equipment that meets all state and federal requirements; plus a state-of-the-art transmission simulator. Students will train on professional PETERBILT, KENWORTH, GMC, MACK, INTERNATIONAL, and FREIGHTLINER tractors, on 28 to 48 closed van trailers. We offer training on multi-transmission (stick shift) and automatic transmission cabover and conventional tractors with not only empty but loaded trailers to fully prepare students for the different situations that they may encounter in the workplace. Students also get the opportunity to train on specialized equipment; Flatbed trailers, Doubles with converter dollies and Tankers. CDL Class B participants train on small box trucks and 72 passenger buses. |

Tractor Trailers: According to the Division of Motor Vehicles, anyone driving a tractor trailer or a truck and trailer with a gross combination vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, provided that the vehicle being towed is more than 10,000 pounds, must have a Class A commercial drivers license. |

Passenger: According to the Division of Motor Vehicles, anyone driving a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, or a vehicle with a gross vehicle rating of 26,001 or more pounds, towing a trailer with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,000 pounds; or a bus with a gross vehicle rating of 26,001 pounds or more designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver, needs to have a Class B commercial drivers license. |
